Like Phileas Fogg, the Roving Rev is about to set off on one great adventure. Whilst he won't be circling the globe, he will be connecting with communities. His journey begins at 1pm on Sunday 10 June from St Michael's in Camberley, and lasts one month. Come along and give him a big send off. A piper, police escort and local vicars will start the walk with him as far as the meadows, then he will be in his own.
Take 1 vicar, throw him out in the cold and wet, and make him walk 390 miles. Cruel? Fortunately there isn't a NSPCV (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Vicars).
Rev'd Bruce Nicole, a.k.a #RovingRev on Twitter, is the said victim, but he is very willing. It's all in aid of the St Mikes Open4All project, which aims to raise £2.6 million for the modernisation of St Michael's, Camberley, and Camberley Connect. The project will make the space a multipurpose area fit for use by the whole community. That kind of money is a very big ask, but local businesses are helping with the challenge. We are very thankful to our sponsors so far. Orchard Sales & Lettings, Creative Dynamic Print, Oysters of Lightwater, East Coast National Rail, Surrey Residents Network and Wagamama.

This is just the start of the project, and there's plenty of opportunity for more sponsors to come on board. If you are a business and would like to donate to help make St Michael's fit for serving the community, please contact Sue Helliwell at press@stmikesopen4all.org.uk
